Introduction: University College of Applied Sciences (UCAS) has received a grant from the Quality Improvement Fund (QIF) - Education to Work Transition Project - Ministry of Education and Higher Education and funded by the World Bank for the project entitled: "Pal Farm to Build the Capacity of Agriculture Diploma Students".
This project aims to build the capacity of agriculture diploma students in the field of agricultural production (plant, animal and fish). Accordingly, UCAS seeks the selection and employment of an Agricultural Technician to work in project implementation.
UCAS is considering the selection of a qualified Agricultural Technician to be part of the administrative staff responsible for the implementation and coordination of the Agricultural Extension and Training Center (AETC) activities under the supervision of the Project coordinator.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
The technician will be responsible for coordinating all activities relating to the following tasks:
1. Coordinate work in the laboratoryies to ensure successful implementation and provide adequate follow up for the center’s activities Ensure the successful implementation of the activities of AETC through preparing implementation plan and providing adequate following up for the center activities.
2. Preparing and evaluating for all issues related to the center including managing volunteers, conducting training, etc.Manage volunteers and conduct trainings when necessary
3. Provide technical support for Agriculture Diploma students, and help in supervising graduation projects .
3.4. Set up and operate laboratory equipment
4.5. Preparation of laboratory sheets and progress reports as required.related to the AETC
5.6. Evaluation and monitoring of AETC activities progress at all stages of the project.
At least Diploma degree in agriculture or any relevant field with minimum GPA of 80%
Minimum of 1 year experience as an agricultural technician.
preferably in an agricultural role.
Strong planning and coordination skills
Good communication skills
Good writing and reporting skills
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders and others contracted in the course of work
Fluency in English and Arabic
Good Knowledge of English
Place of work:
The Technician will work in UCAS buildings mainly at south branch at Khanyounis.
The duration of the assignment is 25 Months; the technician shall work 20 hours per week.
