وظيفة Reconstruction Officer - المنظمة الدولية للمعاقين - غزة

THE ORGANIZATION : With over 30 years of experience, Handicap International (HI) is an independent and impartial aid organization, currently active in 60 countries, working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster. 

It works alongside people with disabilities (PwDs) and vulnerable populations, taking action and bearing witness in order to respond to their essential needs, improve their living conditions and promote respect for their dignity and fundamental rights.
HI has been present in the Middle East since 1987 and currently operates in Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine, with a regional office based in Amman, Jordan, and field offices in each country. In Palestine, HI has been active since 1996 and works in both Gaza and West Bank.

THE PROJECT
The project entitled "Post-emergency and early recovery intervention to improve access to essentials services in the Gaza strip for most vulnerable individuals and families.” which will be implemented by HI and partners, and is funded by the French Agency for Development (AFD), is planned for a duration of 18 months.
The project aims to provide post emergency and recovery support to address the growing gaps in PwDs’ (persons with disabilities) and PwIs’ (persons with injuries) access to essential specialized and mainstream services due to the last crisis in Gaza Strip.

For the implementation of this project Handicap International is opening the following positions:
Reconstruction Officer


The position is full time job position, national status and are based in Gaza
Reconstruction Officer

Main objectives of the position
-Undertake the process of assessment of built environement in project target areas in collaboration    the partners, stakeholder and persons with disability
-Contribute to the development of practical tools for accessibility audit
-Train person with disability, reconstruction stakeholders about accessibility concepts
-Design technical plans of physical accessibilty as per HI / universal standards, support partners for budget aspects
-Organize working cessions to promote information amoung reconstruction stakeholders
-Participate in case study design

Required Qualifications, Competencies and Experience
-Bachelor degree in civil construction
-At least 5 years of experience in construction/rehabilitation including design of plans & budgeting and construction work supervision
-Experience working for an NGO or civil society organization
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-Good level of spoken and written English
-Diplomacy and good negotiating skills are primordial
